Asante Life Family Funeral Plan offers coverage for individuals (single members), married couples, single parents, and families. The main member and spouse receive the same benefit, while children’s benefits vary based on their age at the time of the claim.
Traditional Family Society Scheme
A main member can take out a policy and nominate 5, 9, or 13 family members who are related to them. All nominated family members receive the same benefit payout in the event of a claim.

We offer cover ranging from R5,000 to R30,000 depending on the plan you choose.
Who can apply for Asante Funeral Cover?
Any South African citizen or permanent resident aged between 18 years and 84 can apply.
Is there a waiting period?
Yes, there is a 6-month waiting period for death due to natural causes. Accidental death is covered immediately after receiving the first premium.
Premiums & Payments
How much does the cover cost?
Premiums depend on the level of cover and the number of people included in the policy. Contact us on info@asante.co.za for a detailed quote.
What happens if I miss a payment?
There is a grace period of 30 days. If payments are not made within this period, your policy may lapse.
How do I pay my premiums?
Premiums can be paid via debit order, EFT, or cash deposit.
Will my premiums increase over time?
Premiums may increase due to inflation or if you choose to increase your cover.

How do I submit a claim?
Claims can be submitted online, via email, WhatsApp or at our office. You will need to provide a death certificate and other required documents.
Are there any exclusions?
Yes, exclusions may include suicide within the first 12 months and death due to illegal activities.
How long does it take to process a claim?
Valid claims are processed within 48 hours after receiving all required documents.
Can I add or remove dependents?
Yes, you can add or remove dependents at any time, but waiting periods may apply for new members.

Can I cancel my policy?
Yes, you can cancel at any time, but no refunds will be given for premiums already paid.
Can I upgrade my cover?
Yes, you can increase your cover, but waiting periods may apply to the additional amount
